This website was made by me in an attempt to gather lots of gyaru (or related) resources in one place, as well as to help more people connect themselves to gal and rediscover themselves with the help of gyaru mindset. I'm on a mission to make finding resources on gyaru easier and to make learning about gal and it's history simpler than ever. Gyaru is a japanese makeup & fashion subculture born in the 1990s. The core idea behind it is rebellion against japanese beauty standards at the time, which praised women with dark hair and fair skin. Thus, early gals often had bleached/colored hair and dark tanned skin. A big part of the subculture is the mindset and lifestyle of the gals from that era: they were sociable, cheerful, fashionable, and often associated themselves with clubbing and nightlife.

Below you will find a list of videos that explain pretty much every aspect of gyaru, and that helped me in my journey as a gal personally!

Keep in mind that while these videos do cover a lot of topics, you should still read some in-depth materials (for instance, something from the websites listed in the top left corner!) and surround yourself with gyaru- or related content, such as personal blogs, magazines, or social groups!

To become a gyaru, you're going to need three things:

1. Some makeup;

2. A mindset ready to rebel;

3. Quality resources for your future research.

To become a gyaru, it's essential to master the makeup first; but let's not forget the idea behind our makeup, okay? So, a rebellious and open mindset is also very important. Next, you'll have to do A LOT of research, such as educating yourself on the history of gal, following makeup & hair tutorials, looking into various substyles, following personal blogs, looking for gyaru brands, and more... But worry not, I am here to help you with all that! This website will help you find quality content on pretty much anything gyaru related, so that either the beginning of your journey as a gal or its continuation can go smoothly. ♡

First of all, you don't have to dress a certain substyle to be considered gyaru! Your regular clothes will do if you wear them stylishly. But if you do want to choose a substyle for yourself like I did, I'd reccomend visiting this website, as it has info on pretty much every substyle ever! Recently, I have found a really helpful gyaru subreddit, where they made a very useful masterpost/FAQ, that I would like to share with you!
